The best landing is not at the clearing--it is around the point, where alongside loading in deep water is offered. There is a bit of a hike to get your gear to the large clearing that features large pines but not much rock. The kitchen attempts to block winds, but is very exposed to west winds including SW and NW. There is stable 2 log seating that is nicely balanced on rocks. There are also some rocks to sit upon and a standup dishwashing rock. There are 3 excellent tent pads and adequate spaces for more. There is an extensive, shallow sand beach in the cove around point. This is a quality BWCA site--5 stars if swimming is important.

This site is large enough that our group of 7 with 6 tents was able to fit comfortably. The rocky landing makes getting in and out easy and there's a back "patio" landing that provides you landing and launching options depending on the direction of the wind. Good bear bag tree selection. If the wind is from the south or east, the fire grate is exposed. The latrine is a bit close to the tent pads. Overall a great site for a large group.

There are two options landing. The north side is a sloped rock and is the slightly better of the two. The campsite is set in the red pines. There are trails all over the peninsula. The tent pads are numerous and flat. There is no seating by the kitchen. What makes this site really spectacular is the trail down to the great beach in the cove.
