The best site on Fishdance but that's not saying much. It's really a 2.5 star but the pickings are slim in this area between Alice and the three sites further up at the fork on the Kawishiwi. The area near the fire grate is okay, nice view across the lake, but the tent pad there is very close to the fire. There used to be a pad a little back in the woods to the south but two trees have fallen across that and there really isn't anywhere else flat and clear to set up a tent. The landing on the north side is very rocky and uneven, the small landing on the south side is much better but can only fit a single canoe on shore.
However, we were intrigued by the mist/fog forming on the water below the cliff. After dark it looked as though the water was gently boiling or swirling in every direction at once.

It was a long time ago, but I remember this being a nice campsite. It was high up with a nice view.

We really liked this site. It sits on a little cliff above the water with a wonderful view of the pictograph cliffs across the way. Tent pads are okay, but the nicest one was too close to the fire grate for my liking. Camp kitchen was phenomenal though and I absolutely love Fishdance Lake. Worth the stay.

This camp sits across from the pictographs in a cedar grove. Lots of roots to negotiate as you walk up from the landing to the camp. The pad area is level and the view great. Friends of ours that have stayed here experienced some spooky, haunted feelings while here. Stay at your own risk...
