We spent the week on Insula. I visited this site and had it marked on my map. This site in no way is a 5 star ... 2 at best. I would only stay here as a 'I need a place to sleep'. The whole site is on a steep slope. You would need to be very sure footed. Because of the steep slope the whole site seemed very eroded with lots of exposed roots. The only tent site was on a flat rock that was exposed by two old growth trees that fell exposing the rock beneath. Canoe landing was tiny. I am sure the sunsets are beautiful, but its just a below average site.

Still a very nice site with stunning sunset views but....due to the blow down it is definitely not a 5 with large trees laying on there sides interfering with tenting and views. However, still a very solid 4 and not part of the burn. Caught some smallies here and lost something big.

Great campsite. Lots of room for larger tents. Good shade.

Very nice camp. Good level pad(s), nice kitchen/fire area, great rock ledges to sit and drink coffee and view the lake, beautiful, open forest behind the camp, faces west for sunsets. Word of advice: the latrine is not obvious - the trail to it is not well defined and kinda counter intuitive. It's located up in the forest angling right from the upper tent pad area if your back is to the lake. There is evidence in camp that others have failed to find it (unfortunately).
