It was tempting to stop, but we were on a mission to get to Bootleg. Still, this campsite is nicely placed to offer a reprieve from the LIS marshes and break up the trip from Cummings to Bootleg. It certainly isn't a destination campsite for me, but if I had an extra day on the river I would have stopped. As it was, I only had two days so we pressed on.

The location and views are beautiful, but the campsite is pretty terrible. Take out is awful. You must crash through the leatherleaf and sweet gale on the shoreline. Tent pads are all on top of rock, without good ground for your stakes. Setting up a tarp in also pretty challenging. With that, there is an amazing view of the river and western sky from the fire grate. Also, there is a great view of the eastern sky from the back of the camp. I watched a cow moose, from camp, for almost 20 minutes! Finally, it's great to finally have places to camp on the Little Indian Sioux South that don't require paddling 25 miles to Otter or huge portages to either Bootleg or the Trouts.
