Both of these sites are on the portage and part of the old lakebed. They sit on a gravel flat so there are plenty of tent options. The BIFF is nearly a quarter-mile hike along the trail across the bridge and up the hill, so that is a downside. The hiking trail goes right through both of these campsites and can be followed to the portage landing. Both campsites on the peninsula have steel rings with swinging grates. I liked this one better of the two.
