I picked this campsite based on ratings from this website, and I have to say I was very happy with the choice. I was solo, and this site was more than accommodating for one. I really liked the view from the kitchen and I had no problem finding a good place for my tent (though nowhere was perfectly level). There was also a good area for tying up a tarp between some trees to set up a shelter for gear and a chair, as well a few good trees to string up a hammock. The only trees I could find to adequately hang up my food bag were a little too close to camp, though. I was there in late September until early October and I didn't see a single person. Though, there were an abundance of mice--one even chewed its way into my tent to get at a piece of Kleenex. The landing was mostly sandy and easy to use. I didn't try swimming. I gave a half-hearted attempt at fishing and didn't catch anything. I plan on coming back to this site, though, for sure.

The campsite is among red pines on a peninsula. It has a nice view of the lake. You will get any north or south breezes, but it is protected to the west. At first glance, it appears that this campsite can hold a lot of tents. However, when I looked at it, there was really only one level spot. You can put more tents in if you don't mind a slight slant. The landing is sand/gravel with a few rocks. Swimming is muddy and weedy from the landing and rocky and deep from the point. The kitchen faces southeast and has a nice view. Overall, it is a nice campsite but has a couple of negative aspects that caused me to rate it as average.
