Very odd sight. Positives: Decent shelter from storms coming in from the west; close to decent fishing. Negatives: Just about everything else. Buggy. Terrible landing. No decent place to swim or even wade into the water. Kitchen setup is strange. It's tucked in the woods and in a depression. Seating around the kitchen is nearly impossible when ground is wet because your camp chairs will sink out of sight. We base-camped and spent 4 nights here. Had a great time--because it's the BWCA--but would prefer almost any other site on this lake.

One of the strangest campsites I have seen. Usually the campsite in a kitchen has a view of the lake. Not this one. All you get to see from the kitchen is a big rock. The grate is in a depression - it would probably be wet if it is raining. You can't see the lake from most of the campsite. In fact, it is hard to see the campsite from the lake. It is in a stand of small red pines. There are two tent pads, but one is slanted slightly. The landing is an opening in the rocky shore. The opening can only accommodate one canoe. The campsite is close to some good fishing.
