I hiked to Jig from Korb for fun. I never expected to actually find the campsite. Since there isn't really any way to get to the lake, I didn't think the campsite existed anymore. However, when I reached the spot where it was supposed to be, there was a fire grate! It doesn't look like the campsite has been used since the Forest Service installed it about 30 years ago. Moss and lichen cover the entire site. The latrine is one of the old thunderboxes - the wood has rotted away, so I would dig my own latrine anyway if I were staying here. The landing (if you can call it that) is very steep and would be slippery if wet. There are no logs around the kitchen as with other campsites. There are no established tent pads, so you would just have to pitch your tent where you can among the moss and lichen. The swimming area is shallow and mucky. The lake is very scenic, and it would be hard to find a more secluded place in all of the BWCA.
