I had already portaged over 1100 loaded rods plus the walk backs by the time I got here. I was feeling it, but this site just wasn't that good. It's located in a thick grove of small trees, and the flies were awful when I was there. I didn't stay the night, but in retrospect, Clark lake is far more appealing than the glorified beaver pond known as Meat.

The canoe landing is weedy and has a couple fallen trees at the base of a rather steep hill. The fire area sits 3/4 of the way up the hill and is surrounded by a thick growth of young trees. At the top of the hill, there is flat area to the right where a tent can be placed, but the best location is down the trail to the left where there is a level, soft opening that is one of the nicest tent pads I've found.
