Much better for hammocks than for tents. Main space is very rocky. Beach is sandy and pleasant but gets plenty of motors going by. Tent spots are all uneven, rooty, and/or rocky.

Very nice, large site with an easy, sandy beach landing. Plenty of space for a crew to spread out and pitch tents, and lots of trees for hanging hammocks, rain flies, and bear bags. Though not as breezy as other island sites I've stayed on, there was enough air flow to keep the mosquitoes down. Back by the latrine there was a large pine that had essentially exploded from a lightning strike, leaving a ton of nice firewood (and a fresh piney scent) everywhere. There's a path on the west side of the island leading down to the site at the southern tip, which was also an attractive site.
Update: stayed here again in July 2019 and it was still a wonderful site. Lots of accessible firewood and a cool northwest breeze that we enjoyed the entire day and evening. This is a perfect site for your last night out when exiting Sag Channel the next morning.
Update: I stayed at this site again in July 2019 and it was as beautiful as I remembered.
