Heavily used island site. Difficult to find a proper cathole area. Many of the mature pines were blown down and cover tent pads. Fire pit is overused will become a very muddy during a rainstorm.

PLEASE people, don't crap on the ground and then put a rock (from the fireplace?) on top of your pile and paper! Stayed here 6/9-6/12/2013 and it could be a gem, if people would treat it with some respect. Fireplace was a ruins that I rebuilt, and log seating was almost non-existent. (And who burns seating logs???) Too bad this site isn't 4 hours and a portage north of here. Fun to watch the "traffic" on the U.S. side and good SMB/LMB fishing nearby. (You could easily put seven tents on the site.) Big mature pines and lots of shade. Should be a 4 or 5 star, but I can only give it 3. --Goose

I agree with CG9603. If this was a bigger island or on the mainland, it might be a solid 5-star site. However, the island location doesn't allow much opportunity for picking firewood and there is no room for digging catholes. Beautiful site though. Just over 2 hours to the Moose Lake landing from here. Stayed here in July 2010.

This has to be one of the most popular sites in the Quet. It has excellent swimming and landing areas, and is a good location for a last night out if you are returning to the US via Moose Lake. It sees a lot of use, though, and has been known to have its share of minefields in the past several years. Overall very good.
