Was concerned about staying right on the portage but didn't see a soul the whole 2 days we were there. Our trip was during the border closure and some parts of the park were under fire restrictions, so we might have benefited from lower than normal traffic.
2 good tent pads, swim in the stream, decent fishing nearby. Saw a moose across the bay in the reeds. Although there is shade, no real place to hang a tarp if weather turns bad.

Has seen a lot of use and wind damage from when I passed through in 2016. Very nice flat rock peninsula, room for a tent or two. A nice place to stop before going out.

The portage runs through the middle of the site

site is basically an island....flowing water on each end, and, it's also the portage. We did fit 4 solo tents scattered around and get a tarp up. Overall a nice site.

Stayed at this site in June of 2003. It is next to a short portage between Bud and Beg lakes there is also a short stream that flows from Beg to Bud along side the campsite and another campsite (1EM) on the other side of the stream. There is a lot of exposed and fractured rocks with very deep crevaces. Tree growth at the site is sparce due to the predominance of exposed rock.
