Stayed here for the final two nights of my solo trip for an easy out the last morning to Round Lake. I was first very apprehensive of this site and what it would offer me, but it grew on me the longer I stayed. It's a modest climb to a multi leveled campsite from the water. I would say this site could hold two 4-man tents at the most. I didn't see a very good place for hammocking but to be honest I didn't look all that hard. There is some natural rocks within the campsite that one could use for camp furniture such as tables or chairs. The fire grate area is small but adequate. I put my tent on a ledge overlooking the water and that was really nice. There is some traffic going by headed to the Tuscarora portage, but it breaks up the quietness of the day to say hi to people every once in a while. I enjoy on my solo trips camping next to portages so I can see people throughout my trip. The latrine isn't very far from camp and there is a decent tent pad that would appear to be sheltered from any wind or storms. I would say this is the second best site on missing link and wouldn't hesitate to camp here again. I wouldn't recommend this site for more than maybe four people. If someone has a fly rod they could catch a bunch of trout as they were constantly active at the surface of the water during my stay at this campsite.

We knew after crossing the tuscarora portage that a number of other groups were also getting ready to cross and would also be searching for sites. When we got out on the water, it was clear that all three sites were open and we would be getting the first pick. We passed this one by since it was smaller and very close to the portage.

Cool site! It's a bit of a climb up to the fire grate and it's pretty public, looking over the portage landing and half the lake. The best bear tree hung off a cliff over the lake... probably one of the best bear bags I've ever hung, but a little sketchy. Biff is nice and close to site but still private. Rock formations make a nice sitting ledge around the main camp/grate area.

Relatively steep climb up to main camp area. Nice view north up the lake. There is some neat & functional natural rock furniture in camp. Still, overall the site is below average & weedy/buggy.

Tough site to get up to, but the area by the fire grate isn't bad. NFS just needs to go in and put some new bench logs in.

Poor uneven campsite with a steep climb to fire grate area. Seemed like best site on lake though.
