Definitely a big, level wide open site amongst mature red pines....great for a group. I generally agree with all the positive things other reviewers say about it...expect that it's quite exposed. This keeps the bugs at bay in a light breeze, but when there is a strong wind it really isn't a pleasant spot; the wind blows right through the site, there's really no shelter unless the wind is coming from the south, and the big trees howl - no sleep to be had.

Large site, can land on east or west side of peninsula. No reasonable access to a latrine area though. 3.5 stars

Stayed here at this site for 3 days in the fall of 2012. Nice Open site with great Kitchen and a very nice base camp. Wood is not hard to find you just have to work for it a few dead trees near. Beautiful view of sunsets every night. Nice bathing area. Also Great for the Hammocks as well. Also 2 places to pull canoes up on the south side and also on the far north side of camp. could be 5 star depends on how you look at it.

Camped here for 3 nights in August 2004. Site is wide open with lots of level room for tents but also has nice shade. Decent fire/cooking pit with log benches next to it. The site has a nice view of the lake and receives a nice easterly/northerly breeze. The site is on a peninsula and is lacking in fire wood. You will have a short walk to gather enought wood. Great site with great views.
