This is an excellent site. Good, easy landing. Well constructed seating area around a fire pit. Large, open (but wooded) campsite with plenty of options for tents and hammocks. This really has the feel of one of Quetico's 5-star campsites. I believe the first review was referring to a different site. Note: There is a path from here to a portage trail about 100 yards to the north. The portage is not on the Quetico Chrismar map but is in the Fischer maps. There is a campsite on the Wet side of the portage; the portage goes right through the site. That campsite is not nearly as beautiful as this McEwen site.

This is a large and little-used campsite in a thick stand of red pines. The campsite stretches for a considerable distance and the previous rating likely refers to just the North end of the site that contains a broken down fire ring. Proceeding a bit farther South, the site opens up nicely with several tent pads, a decent canoe landing, and a very nice fire ring surrounded by good log seating.

This may or may not be a campsite as I reluctantly stated it had 1 tent pad. You will have to be creative to find it. Fire area is nice and general location also nice.
