Out for a day hike around a loop of trails I hadn't been in to before. This site is pretty cool. It's quiet and has decent solitude and is perched on an amazing cliff face above a remote lake. Wish I was out to spend the night, but I had to get back to the car still.

A small site located on a rock shelf. The entire site is elevated above the water line about 15' or so which provides a nice overlook of the lake. However there is a tight landing down by the water if you're ambitious enough to portage a canoe in. There are no really great tent pads, as the site is sloped slightly towards the lake, but there is a small one near the fire grate and another a short distance back up the trail in. The trail to the latrine is a bit concealed and is also back up the trail coming in. There are the rusted out remains of a couple of old abandoned automobiles and some vintage 'garbage' at the junction of the hiking trails near the SE corner of the lake. Also, there is a nice overlook on the BRT just to the east of the spur trail down to Sock Lake.

Very small campsite - mainly a backpackers site off of the Border Route Trail on a spur trail to Sock Lake. Wouldn't want to portage a canoe there.
