Stayed here in a pinch. Small, but pretty site. Caught a bunch of fish in this river. A bunch. There is room for more tent pads at the other end of the short portage.

The portage goes through the campsite, which is no longer a legal campsite according to the Lief at Cache Bay Ranger Station. It is in a nice grove of trees though, and the fire ring is still there.

Campsite is located at upstream end of portage around an un-runnable rapids. Site is set in cedars. Definitely not your typical Quetico site, but more like what you sometimes find in the north Ontario bush.

My 2008 trip notes say: "There was a definite campsite at the upper end of the portage around the rapids, but it was a 'last resort' only." (Sorry, I cannot contribute any other information about fireplace, tent pads, etc.) Mosquitoes were brutal!
