Excellent site. This island site has an awesome western exposure, a good landing, minimal mosquitos (no netting required), deep water swimming access, a huge fire area with log seating and fire grate, soft level sites, and enough diggable soil for latrine use. The only negatives were the previous users. We picked up and packed out cigarette butts, wire and wrappers. We found nails in multiple trees and exposed TP. Hopefully future campers will leave this island a lttile better than they found it.

Arrived late and left early, nice enough site - but in no way is this island big enough to support latrine use. Paddle to land for that!

A medium-sized island with a bit of vertical thrust from the water due to the fact that it's essentially duff-on-rock. Beautiful views of the lake and it's passages if a little exposed. Welcome respite near an adventure's end.
However, the little soil that is there has been well utilized for catholes. Please people, bury your TP well.

Beautiful lake view and great tent pads but the island has been turned into a latrine. I had human feces stuck to my shoe and noticed more within 2 feet of the water line. Obviously such an environment presents a potential problem. I wonder when/if the Quetico will add dedicated latrines for heavily used sites so close to entry/exit points. Would not recommend this site unless you're traveling early in the season. Were it not for the overuse issue this would be a 5 star site.

As mentioned, lots of ants. West side of island was best for us.
Place is very well used, and folks have made a toilet out of most of the island.
Not recommended. We stayed only because it was the first available site we could find and we were exhausted.

It is a very small but overall nice island. There are many potential landing spots around the island, mostly sloping granite. The island is covered in red pines, making for nice places to put tents or hammocks. Since it is a small island, firewood is scarce and it is hard to find a place to put the latrine. Probably the biggest downside, though, is the island is covered in ants. It had the biggest anthill I have seen in my life.

Great island site - BUT - eastern end of island is absolutely thick with ants. Western end is best with good tent sites, fire pits, views, etc.
