Despite the wind bound potential, my group found this to be a very nice site. Good fire pit, landing, access to fishing, views and space. Little wear and tear. Artifacts too.

Spent 2 nights here, windbound for most of 1 day. Might give it a 3.5 by the time we left. There's 1 good protected tent site although after a big overnight storm we had an inch of water in a depression under middle of tent. There's another protected tent site nearby but it's lumpy. The other 2 sites (1 we saw being used on our way in) are flat but out on the open grass in front, & since there's likely rock under them, will have to anchor your tents with rocks (plentiful at this site). And those sites are going to get hammered with a strong S/SW wind. The view is great with all the ledge rock and there's an interesting old iron chain/anchor out on the rock. The kitchen area was trashed when we arrived - wood everywhere, fire pit pretty much dismantled for use as tent anchor rocks on the grass - so being wind bound gave us time to do some "housekeeping".

Small site with great views. Best for one tent. OK kitchen.

I agree with the 2007 comments except for the 4-star rating. For me, the only 4-star aspects of the site were the easy access landing, the gently sloping wide-spread access to the water, and good sitting/viewing places. Everything else I saw was "average." The actual usable area of the site is small, and the landscape behind the campsite is thick "bush." (Not a hammock user's delight.)

Very nice spot, only windy from SW. Nice flat, open ledge with easy slope up to average fire pit. Big pine tree cover. Big water view SW.
