very open site on a small island.
nice swimming spots and good fireplace although very poorly sheltered if a storm hits. 3.5 stars

Quite adequate site for 4 single tents. Good firepit. Have been to this island site last 3 years running and find it just fine-contrary to earlier ratings. This year (2015) we found the site littered with blowdown, but did not impact site utility. Caution as one partially felled widow-maker lies over main tent pads. Offers good access to fishing South bays of Minn and close to grerat fishing at Darkie River outlet.

Overused, small island, back half of island is sewer, dirt & tree roots

Spent 2 nights here Jun 27/28, 2009 windbound for 36 hours. Island is very small and has been greatly overused. West end is very open and exposed to W, NW and N winds. Low-lying East end has been used for toilet purposes, but is too close to the water. This site should be considered only as a "last resort."
