Right on the tiny portage, but I don't expect the portage is really used all that much. Only people heading to South Lake would come through here and there's not a ton of reason to. It's cool because you have water on both sides. Rat Lake to the West would be your own private fishing lake and Rose Lake to the East has great views. I'd say this is an hour paddle from Rose Falls. Also, South Lake is not far from here - that portage has a nice site which is better than this one - so I'd go there personally.

I would stay here. But only if it was late in the day and you could plan for no one to pass through...

Wide open site sitting on the south side of the portage. The blowdown hit this area hard so there isn't a lot of cover. Not too bad, but wouldn't be private at all.

Since this site is literally right on the portage you'd have to share those landings. Not sure where the canoes would be stored? There is however, a decent fire grate area and a couple of tent pads. Long walk to the latrine. Raspberries.
