Overall, this is a really nice site. However, it is on the main travel route, so you will see a fair bit of traffic. Sloping rock from kitchen to main landing. Eastern view from kitchen. Semi-open site, though the tent pads are shaded.

Landing isn't the worst but a bit awkward. Shallow all around, so not great fishing from camp though you'll catch little smallies and the occassional decent one, some bluegill and perch and northern. One spot with better dropoff was at the end of a path straight from the latrine, but I had no success in my couple attempts. Couple of tent spots, we used the one near the kitchen area for a tarp. The view from the firegrate/kitchen area is beautiful and that alone makes it an enjoyable stay. But very buggy and damp ---- expansive site, but the lower area to the north of the kitchen area is low and not appropriate for tent setup. Have to walk quite aways for firewood. Fire grate has a nice boulder behind it. As of Aug '22, no decent sitting logs, so bring a chair or barrel to sit on. Not the best site, but a nice stay with a great view.

Great view. Lot's of traffic but most people coming from the north won't even notice the site. Nice rocks out in front. Excellent fire grate area. Very compact tent pads.

This wasn't our first choice on horseshoe because I thought it too close to the portage, but it is a good site, sheltered from the portage, but facing a fair bit of traffic on horseshoe. Good area to hang hammocks as a group and another good solo spot off the kitchen. Kitchen was nice, landing was okay, but was good for fishing. Didn't like seeing that a previous camper had stripped a live tree of branches to rig a bear tree.

The view from this site is magnificent. Both sunrises and moon are beautiful. Canoe landing is a bit tricky and swimming is hampered by rocks and grass. Tent pads are soft and relatively flat. The site doesn't get afternoon sun so it can be a bit cold particularly if the wind is coming from the South. Site is well used so finding firewood can be challenging. Cooking area is open with some shielding from the wind.

Awkward landing. Great kitchen with good wind-protection boulder. Swimming is shallow and rocky. Tent sites level and good distance. Several bear tree options.
