The best landing is to the north of the rocky point, below a couple of big cedars. It's shallow but better than the smooth rock face on the point. An open and sunny site but it sees shade in the late afternoon. Tent pads are as smooth as they get, a few nice opportunities. The latrine is close and in good shape. No good bear trees, we had to get creative with this one. Hammocking opportunities are likewise limited. The swimming off the rock face is good, the water gets deep quickly. A big old snapping turtle visits in the morning to presumably sun itself and swipe fish. All things considered not a bad site, but it's in a busy area. Expect to see a lot of traffic!

Base camped here with 2 tents, one of which was a large 6 man tent. plenty of room for multiple tents. Bear hang options are a little limited, especially with the new rules but we made it work. caught northern right from camp. swimming from the canoe landing rock was ok as well. Snapping turtle visits the landing as well looking for fish on stringers. FS dug a new latrine while we were there, its cavernous now. Private site due to no clear view of lake, but still has good breeze.

Nice landing - small sloping rock with room for one canoe at a time. There are a few other takeout options around the peninsula. The main part of the campsite is a large, open, grassy area around the kitchen. There is a very large tent pad in this area. There are a few other tent pad options down trails in the woods.

Open site, view of the lake is mainly blocked by trees, this was nice since it is on a main route. not too busy, but people were quietly paddling by throught the 2 days. Good moose viewing to the SE.

Convenient and spacious. Nearest bear hang is a bit of jaunt but not bad. Received nightly bear visits as was the usual for this area in the fall of '22.

Base camped here for five nights. Got to Horseshoe around 10:00am and it was the only site on the lake that was open. Fortunate to get a nice site. No place to hang a tarp unless you wanted to go back into the woods. We were there during a very hot stretch of weather so we put our tents on a couple pads back in the woods along the trail that leads to the latrine. Worked out well to have some shade there. Nice fire pit area. Best boat landing is around the corner in the cedar trees, although you can park in front on the rocky area. Pretty nice swimming area. All in all, a nice site.

Overall a very good site. Very private. Good moose viewing area. Three good tent pads but not suitable for a large tent needing a level pad and needing to be staked down.

Nice site. As said before the trees obscure the lake somewhat so it is more private even with canoes going by. Would work for a large tent too. Very good moose veiwing. Saw moose every day we were there including a cow with two calves.
