Overall, the ambience is not as good as the site around the corner, but the tent pads are better. There are 4 excellent tent pads. There are several others that would qualify as "good" at other campsites, so you can fit a lot of tents here. The kitchen is low next to the water on a rock peninsula. Faces west. Landing is decent.

Very nice site. Good canoe landing, plenty of trees to string a tarp, lots of space near the fire grate. Two good tent pads with other areas that could serve if needed. Several sites on Horseshoe Lake are close to one another so camp noise can be an issue. Only semi-drawback is the rocky bottom extended out into the lake and made swimming a little challenging. Popular turtle nesting grounds as we watched 6-7 turtles climb out of the water to lay eggs.

Grabbed the first site on Horseshoe that was open and didn't regret it. Lovely woods behind. Occasional sounds from nearby camp could be a problem.

Great campsite with nice views. The site is open in front of the kitchen area with rockface floor. The kitchen area has some trees for tarp hanging, but still has an open feel. There are two excellent tent pads (there are more options, but the two I'm about to describe are the best and most obvious). The pads are down two separate short trails through the woods, so you have some privacy from each other. The pads have a nice dirt/pine needle flooring. Latrine is a bit of a hike, but I consider that a good thing. Loved this site. Perfect hammock spot right in front of the site, overlooking the water (see pic). The only criticism I have is, there was a large group of college boys staying at the site across the way while we were there. Singing and yelling loudly, clearly intoxicated. We heard them cut a tree down at one point. Anyways, the campsites on this lake are not very far apart, so if there is a noisy group, you will hear them.

Great site. Two large, level tent pads, ample hammock trees and a huge, open fire area that looks out onto the lake over a large rock platform that makes for some excellent stargazing. Latrine is down a path into the woods so it offers plenty of privacy (and plenty of bear bag trees as well). Two easy landings that both offer excellent swimming opportunities in the shallows. Nice layout and plenty of room. We also saw a moose parked in the bay around the corner by site 675 (seems to be there all the time). Copious amounts of randy turtles, also.
