This one I am tempted to give 4 stars just for the solitude. You probably won't see anybody down this part of the lake. The campsite is a rock peninsula with good views east and west. Landing is easy - I was able to pull right up to the rock and unload. The latrine trail was a little muddy and then climbs a lot. One good tent pad. Of the other two tent pads, one is good but very small, and the other is on a rock, so you won't be able to use stakes. Near some rapids on the Brule River, so I imagine fishing could be good from the site, though I didn't try it.

This campsite is small but special. Its location on an off the main drag spot make it unique. The grate is situated in a quaint grove of cedars.

Smaller site. Works okay for a smaller group. Wouldn't put more than 2 tents on here. Short hike up the hill to the latrine. Water out front is pretty shallow. Did catch a few smallies casting from shore, but not an ideal place if you want to do a lot of fishing. Off the beaten path so there wasn't much for traffic.

Good, secluded site. Not the best view in the world but a decent one. It worked perfect for my wife and I in a single tent. Getting 2 tents would have been a struggle no matter the size. The one good tent pad was is a low spot as well but we had a fair amount of rain and it wasn't too big of an issue. The privacy is the best part though! now one passed by our site the entire weekend. Good moose area even though we did not see any. Heard them several times though. As others have said, the latrine is a but of a climb but not too bad. Fishing from shore is not great but not terrible if you are after Pike. Any other species would be difficult. All in all its a good, small, secluded site.

Okay, this site is VERY secluded and really only functional for one couple at most, or a solo who wants isolation. One 4P or two 2P side-by-side tents maximum. Fire grate is super-high and faces west. One solid hammock spot, three if you get creative. If you're looking for a site to see a moose, this is the best there is. Last night I watched a moose taking a dip at dusk from about 300 feet away. Then at around midnight I was awakened by two moose as they clip-clopped, and splashed right next to my campsite 30 feet away. I turned on my red headlight to get a glimpse and they ambled into the woods. Pretty awesome. Back to the site - fishing is poor as it gets weed-choked and is very shallow back there. If you're adventurous you can keep paddling towards the Brule River and get out and fish while standing in the rapids. Not much after the rapids to report. Mount Brown is up a VERY steep hill so no safe pooping after sundown. Overall, it's a decent site only for those who truly want the feeling of being cut off from anyone else and want to meet Bullwinkle.

Nice campsite, very cozy. Only one tent pad really. We had a two person tent along for my son but we decided to just all sleep in the bigger tent. It would have been a real challenge to squeeze both tents in.
As mentioned in other reviews it is a very private site being at the end of the Southeast arm of the lake.

Loved this site for a small group. It's quirky, secluded, has a good "aura." Kitchen area is very cool, though rather small. Latrine is back a ways, might have to go through a swamp, and then you have to climb a big hill. And still...we loved this site. Tent pads: There's one giant pad, that's basically it. Can fit a large tent or two smaller tents. There's a bit of a climb from the water landing, too. Nothing horrible...we stayed here with a 3 year old and didn't worry she'd fall in the drink.

A great very private site. If anyone goes past you they are heading towards some rapids on the Brule River so don't expect any passers by. The fire grate is very nice on a rocky point and there is fishing form shore but since the river is pretty shallow right in front of the site you have to cast across which is fun. We were coming back form a day trip and a moose cow and two calves were in front of us. They walked through the camp and in to the brush. we waited a very courteous distance away. The latrine is up a pretty steep hill.

Unique and secluded little campsite! Great rock outcrop by the water to fish or hang out on. Probably only room for one tent. LOTS of moose activity and a bear across the creek from camp. Biffy is pretty far away. Great site for a couple, you'd feel like you had the forest all to yourself.

Paddled past this site. The fire ring is out on a little point which would provide a neat 180 degree view of this narrow area by the Brule River. It is very shallow so don't expect to swim off shore.

cool, very secluded campsite but really only good for one tent. rain is a problem on the main tent pad and the latrine is a good hike up a steep hill. I wouldn't stay here during the buggy season. good fishing on mouth of brule and southern finger of horseshoe.

Decided not to stay. Very neat site at the mouth of the Brule river. I can imagine it is some of the best Moose area around. If other sites in the area we not available... We would have loved to stay here. Nice kitchen area, loved the firepit location.
