After a long portage from Caribou Lake we found all of the sites on the east end of Caribou taken. Paddling into the wind we were thrilled to find this site open. As others have said this site has everything you want in a BWCA campsite. Easy low landing to get into the site but the kitchen/firegrate area sits up high with a great view to the east. This site has trails to explore and you can hike from camp to the portage to Mountain Lake. The Mountain Lake portage connects to the Keck Trail also. Tents sites are good.

This campsite has just about everything you could want! It's a very large campsite. Open landing with plentiful canoe storage, big trees great for hammocking or hanging a bear bag, midsized jumping rock that we also fished off of. There's one big textbook tent pad, with a couple other decent spots, or there's a big open space you could pitch a tent or two in down by the landing. They weren't joking when they named this lake clearwater!

All-star site. Elevated above the lake with great cliff-jumping options. The site is fairly spread out with ample opportunities for hammock hanging and the view from the firegrate across the east side of Clearwater is breathtaking. Highly recommend. The site is near a portage point, so may see some increased traffic as a result.

Excellent campsite with great views. We fit four tents here with relatively good tent locations. Affords an easy landing and room for additional tents. East wind can wreak havoc with the campfire if there's enough wind.

Excellent landing. Elevated site that provides an awesome eastern view down the lake. (great for sunrises) There is room for several tents, but no really good tent pads. Trails stretch out from camp for exploration. Nice canopy of red pines provide shelter & multiple tarp & hammock options.
