This one is a gem! We liked it so well that we decided to stay two nights. I love pine-dotted sites with open understory like this one. Large, level are for tents. Elevated so the views are great. Gets a nice breeze, but the pine trunks help keep it from being overwhelming even when it is windy. Nice cooking are with a couple nice "shelves". The beach made landing easy and there was plenty of room to secure canoes if you carry them just a little ways up the path.

Great campsite. It has a sandy beach on the west side of the peninsula - great for swimming and parking the canoe. It is a short climb up to the kitchen. Most of the campsite is 10-15 feet above the water. Great view to the west and south. The rocks are good for lounging on. The kitchen is semi-protected from the wind. Red pines cover the site, so the tent pads have a nice layer of soft needles. The tent pads are very flat and easy to put stakes in. If you have a hammock, the pines are spaced apart well.

Such a nice site that we decided to stay two days. A small but lovely little beach, but the site is set high on the top of a rocky point with some nice diving rocks (be very careful -- one blind submerged rock in a spot that looks from above like it is clear). Essentially one tent pad, but large enough that we got three 4-person tents set up on it with room to spare. You have to walk a little way to find firewood.

We stopped for lunch on 6/26/05. This was a great site with a small beach landing, just N.E. of Scripture Island. There are a few areas to land, but not a lot of room for canoes, but that aside, this is a great site. The main site is elevated and has a spectacular view of Scripture and west to Sturgeon. The one downside is that the site isn't well protected from winds. There is ample space for tents just beyond the rocky area that makes a great cooking area with lots of different spots to sit and overlook Sturgeon and the surrounding areas. Site may be slightly N.E. of the mark on the map.
