Beautiful site. Erosion to the shore line over time forced the park to add boulders to the shore line. This is a change we saw in 2019. Perfect sight for base camping. Kids had plenty of room to roam. Great fishing in the narrows to the west.

We ended up here when Little Caribou was taken, and loved this site. It isn't a "wild" site though, if that is what you are looking for.
The front landing is landscaped with boulders, complete with steps up into the site. There is also a "backdoor" landing around the point so you can more easily store the canoe.
The site offers a nice wide view of Caribou Lake, facing west. We caught a strong breeze to dry our gear out after packing up in rain at our previous lake.
Close enough for a short day trip to Johnson Falls. Would stay here again, particularly since Little Caribou was so green...I wouldn't take the private site there over this one with clearer water.

Don't judge this book by the cover. This site looks rough from 100 yards out. After closer inspection this site is great. Perfect views, smooth landing, excellent tent pads, and above average fire grate set-up. If the site on Little Caribou is taken, look for this one as a back-up. The only downside for this campsite is the water is shallow - so fishing ain't the best from shore.
