This site was completely ravaged by the wildfires. It looked as though there was some work attempted by park staff to clear a tent pad, but it was not usable. We had to put our tents on an exposed rock face near the edge of a cliff, shadowed by a blackened red pine.. only the fire pit remains. this would be an absolute last resort campsite, I would not plan to stay here. The entire site is covered by downed trees, and there were thousands of mosquitos lurking in the brush.

I was a guide for 2 seasons. This site is your target after the death march portages. There is also a time capsule, so get here early and have fun reading through other travelers notes and leave your own.

Great elevated site for preparing or recovering from the Death March. Excellent for sitting and reading on a sunny day.
