This is the second time I camped in this site. This is a large site with plenty of room for tents. We stayed here 2 nights on this trip. We hiked both days up to Vale Lake. The portage trail is a short distance east of camp. This is a very steep climb on this portage up to Vale Lake but with only fishing gear and a water bottle it is worth it for the scenery. We were able to catch and release several trout. We also took a day trip to Johnson Falls on the west end of Pine Lake.

Nice large site with views of the lake in both directions. Canoe landing is to the south. Room for several Hammocks

A large, beautiful site! The landing is rocky, but once in camp you have a large site that can accommodate a few tents, a bunch of large pines, boulders and roots for character, and a great view to the north. Perhaps the only drawback other than the landing is that there is another site across the lake, but Pine is so large that it wasn't a big deal for us despite that site also being occupied. I would seek this site out again if in the area.

gBig open site with a massive tree near the fire pit. Several flat tent pads and great fire pit. Definitely would stay here again. Very close to the portage to Vale Lake, which is a fun adventure. You can bushwhack from the site to the portage trail if you don't want to paddle to the portage.
