Rating this as a hike in site since it's a fair distance (100 yards? No view of lake) from the lakeshore. Large, flat expanse of pine duffed real estate that will easily accommodate a large group. There are a few old growth pines that provide a mystical canopy. For a (mostly) hike in site you'll be hard pressed to do better.

Grabbed this site after passing the one to the east and then watching the rain come in. Beautiful red pines and view of the lake. A bit hilly, but plenty of hammock or tent pads. Caught a nice pike from shore for a bonus point.

Good site for hiking the BRT or canoeing in. It is a little ways (maybe 100-200 yards?) up the portage trail (on the east side of the portage trail from Pine to West Pike). Map location indicated is either inaccurate or is missing the campsite where I stayed.
