A lovely site. A smooth and expensive landing has nice views looking northeast, which easily makes up for the semi obstructed views at the fire grate itself. You can walk through the woods west to get some nice views looking that direction down the lake as well. If you keep going straight inland on the way to the throne, you can see a surprise waterfall so long as it isn't dry. We were visited by a pine marten too.

The site has a very small view of the lake, but it was ok as long as you went down by the water. It has the largest fireplace I've seen though - very interesting to see how much rock was used.
The site opens up inside the forest canopy quite a bit, but it is hilly so it limits tent pad locations a bit. I can't imagine there is a lot of airflow in this site during summer months, but it worked for us in the fall.
