The campsite is in the burn area, but this little east-facing point mostly escaped. There are still some big white pines in the site. The landing is small but OK. Lots of grass. The latrine trail is unique - it goes right along the edge of the burn area. Recovering forest on the left, unburned forest on the right. The fire grate has welded plates on three sides to help block the wind - I have not seen that before.

Decent landing. Surrounding area was burned in the Redeye fire (2006) Not alot of cover behind the site but there are still trees near the shore. Tent pads aren't the best & firegrate is boxed in allowing entry from only one side.

In the area burned by the Red Eye Lake fire, this camp is devoid of large tree making food pack hanging difficult. Also, without the large trees this area is filled with tall grasses and other sun loving plants. The amenities for the site are okay, but I'd find a different site if given the chance.
