Really great site. The other reviews are accurate--loved the huge rock formation on the peninsula since we were able to dry our tents from the rain the night before. There is a short (3 to 4 foot high) rock on the north side toward the bay that you can use to jump into the deep water in the bay. There were 2 decent tent pads. A bigger group could be accommodated if you don't mind pitching on a bit of a slope.

Stopped here for a snack while fishing and camping on site 764. A fire grate anchors this site in the center of a small point with great views to the west. Solid variation of forest canopy on the east with open sky areas on the west. Supersite for a small to medium-sized group. Portage is rocky and a bit deep, but to be expected on the point of a deep trout lake. Enjoy!

Awesome campsite - my favorite on Winchell. Landing is as easy as they get on a gently sloping rock. Large, sprawling site that faces west with a great view of the lake and sunset. Nice breeze to keep bugs away, but you can still get out of the wind. A lot of tent pads, and several of them are back behind the site along trails. Because it is on a thin peninsula, it is a long way to the latrine (150 yards).

Fantastic site! There are multiple landings to the campsite, nice fire grate and camp logs, and multiple tent pads. Also, a great back bay to swim and fish in. There isn't really a single problem with this site. If you have the chance, take this site!

Very nice site. Well used so firewood a little hard to find. Rocky point with two levels good for drying gear or fishing. Nice fire area with good seating and log for preparing food.

Great site! Beautiful views of the lake and sunset, trees by the water for hanging a hammock and private tent pads in the trees. Easy to paddle in/out of and nice to have your "own" bay to swim and fish.

Phenomenal site! Nice landing with a back bay if it's too windy. Some great tent pads back away from the firegrate along the rather long trail to the latrine. Nice sloping solid rock point great for hanging out & incredible vistas. A west orientated firegrate provides spectacular views of the sunset.
