This is probably a 1-star if you are tenting, 2-star if hammocking. The only "good" tent pad is right by the latrine. If you have one hammock, there are two trees spaced perfectly apart near the kitchen area. The landing is OK - you would probably need to wet foot it. I used an alternative landing to the east on a mossy rock, but there is not much of a trail from that easier landing to the campsite. There is an impressive cliff by the campsite, but you cannot see it from the campsite. In fact, you cannot see much of the lake from the kitchen. There is a sitting rock in front of the site, but there is still no view of the cliff. I have seen much worse campsites, so this would be a high 1-star bordering on 2-stars.

Everyone online talks about how terrible this site is, but I would take it over the bay site on Vista any day. At least it's flat and not overgrown. I wouldn't camp there if either of the two sites on the southern end of Vista were open, but it's not terrible.

Truly a "last resort" site.. OK canoe landing area but lackluster site.
