One of the best swimming areas I've been to at a campsite in the BWCA, off the rocks behind the two huge pines. The water gets deep quick, so it's safe, and there's a little spit of rock near the water level to dive from. Two decent tent pads and the aforementioned pines are good for hammocks. The useful space is small enough that I can't give it more than 3 stars, though.

Nice landing. Small initial site right on the water but roomy enough for two tents and a small spot for a tarp. You could probably pitch a small tent a few hundred feet up on the hill overlooking the lake. We sought refuge here through a pretty intense thunder/lightning storm and the giant trees were concerning in that particular situation but otherwise beautiful location. The winds kept the bugs away. Caught a few small northerns off of the rock in front of camp.

Landing is OK. Big pines in the camp. Good view of the lake. There are two OK tent pads. They might be a little lumpy. Next to a swampy area, so bugs might be a problem. We also had fun watching the sunfish by the landing defend their nests. They were kept busy chasing away all of the smaller minnows.
