Get here early! This is an amazing spot. Nice mature trees, several decent spots to hang and two beautiful camp pads. Huge amazing kitchen. Lots of ants from all the use!! Great breeze, 3-4 nice approaches to the site for fishing. Nice spot to hang bear bag over the water on the west side. Level rock deck out front! Nice spot to sit waist deep in water, although there are blood suckers. Found Chantarelles right in camp! Moose and recent Bear scat found near latrine (which is a hike). We actually saw the bear swimming and climb the hill across the lake. Husband figured he's 500#, he was huge! Blueberries were pretty picked over but found enough for pancakes. Big resident spiney snapping turtle and a beaver. Great base camp site. FISHING WAS TERRIBLE AND WHAT WE FOUND HAD PARASITES! Watch many people paddling west exhausted from the wind. Most of the sites on Ogish were taken.

Great site, I agree with all the other reviews. Nice rocks to sun yourself and swim from. Decent hammock trees. The great downfall of this site was only that the previous users left rotting fishheads in the woods, too near the site and not buried, which I believe is the correct protocol. The wind shifted every afternoon and the entire site stank to high heaven. A real downer on an otherwise perfect site.

Large site with excellent landing. Plenty of tent pads and good tarp options. Very nice site.

This is the equivalent of a wilderness Hilton with at least a half-dozen good tent pads, excellent landings, a nice view, and a "thunder box" with a lid.
