We pulled in here after a long travel day from Gijikiki. I wasn't tired yet though (early season trip) so I hiked up to the high ridges behind for great overlooks. This site burned, but is special enough to still be a nice site after.

By far the best camp site on Jasper - evidently the fire didn't hit this area so the trees are nice and mature up there - the landing isn't tricky, just a LONG way from the camp site which is up a hill - but the landing is nice crushed rock and gravel and nice and shallow down there - if there weren't folks there when we went, we would have been up there ourselves!

You could not design a better layout for a camp. The site itself is at a fairly high overlook above Jasper. Large, flat, soft tent spots with sheltering trees make for a restful night's sleep. Firegrate is a bit exposed but was built up very nicely with stones. Stay for the spaciousness and the view.

This would be a 5-star site except for the tricky landing. Room for 2 tents.
