Scruffy campsite with a few pad and hang options. Resident beavers are very active. Not much for tree cover–many around the site have died. Fell asleep watching aurora from my hammock.

Stopped for lunch, and it's clear this site doesn't get much use. The latrine was inhabited by one of the biggest spiders we've ever seen in Minnesota.

Stopped here for lunch. Wouldn't have wanted to stay here as there was a lot of deadfall at the time and lack of coverage.

Pretty easy landing. Nice view of cliffs on the other side of the lake. Mostly jack pines. Was hard to find a hanging tree. Swampy area, and we were swarmed with bugs when we got there. Miraculously, though, they disappeared when we were setting up camp. Not sure what happened. Not much for swimming or fishing. This site is a good alternative if the other site on the lake is taken. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Meh. It does in a pinch when the other campsite is taken. The other Slim site did look better than this one. Not many great tent pads, but we made do.

Descent site with a bad fire pit area. Marsh area net to site. We had to paddle out to get some cleaner water that wouldn't clog the filter. Decent small mouth and bluegill fishing from shore. In strong winds, watch the tall tree towards the back of the site, it's dead, rotting and filled with woodpecker holes.

All the sites in Upper Loon and Little Loon were full so we took this one after putting in at LIS. Not much shade or tree cover. Across the lake from the unmarked portage to Fat lake. Avoids that nasty Steep lake portage
