Nice big site that sprawls along the shore. The lower area was right by the water and offered several trees for hammocks and at least one decent spot for a tent (there was another spot that worked for my tarp setup but would not fit most tents). Kitchen area was very large, with a good "table rock" and plenty of seating. Despite being very close to a popular entry point, I could find a ton of wood along a trail that followed the cove to the north of the site (I assumed it leads to the nearby campsite). Couldn't really find any good trees to hang my food. I thought that landing was great, especially compared to the other site we stayed at on Alton. It was rocky, but with a nice gravel shelf that made it easy to load and unload -- if you don't mind getting your feet wet, which we didn't on the warm summer day we spent there. Swimming was ace as well. However, there were quite a few bugs at this site! Other drawbacks include being in visible and audible range of another campsite. We could hear the other group's conversation from across the water. Not a major issue, but not ideal. But great site especially considering it is about 45 minutes from the Sawbill entry point.

Pretty decent campsite. Level, good fireplace and overlooks to the lake. Bugs were a bit thick when I went. Great places along the shoreline to sit and watch the wilderness.

Very good site. Decent landing, but very private. Lots of different tent pads ("rooms") and cedars down by the landing. A decent swimming spot, but there could be better. Good kitchen, though. My son cought a monster largemouth a little way from shore. Overall: Very good site.

Excellent wind protection. Tent pads are spread out giving some separation.

The kitchen is up on a hill with stairs leading from the landing. There are multiple landing options, none of them great.

small - nothing special. Would make a decent solo site but not a lot of good hammock opportunities here. Trails connect this site with site to the north.
