It's a nice looking site. A touch beat on but that is expected for its location.
Great island in front, great canoe landing.

As others have mentioned, this site has a nice overlook area behind the site. Unfortunately, the other direction's view is a very public one of the biff! Not ideal for a mixed group. That said, we were just stopping here for lunch before moving on an the overlook was the perfect spot for that.

We enjoyed the views in all directions from this site. Our favorite feature was the mini island just a few feet offshore from the island that hosts this site. We didn't go visit across that small channel, but we liked looking at it. Nice carpeted forest floor for tents and exploring. Had a hard time hanging a pack here, with such dense tree cover.

Sloped shallow water landing. Tent pads are scattered about the site with the best being a fair distance from the main camp area. There are trails branching out including one to a panoramic overview of the north part of the lake (there is also a nice tent pad up here.) The high rating is more about the fringe benefits as the main firegrate area is actually quite lumpy, sloped and subpar.

Amazing rock cliff to the north of campsite, just a short walk. Cherokee is a beautiful lake. Heavily traveled lake but this site affords some privacy. Nice cooking area.

Big beautiful site. Consider yourself lucky to camp here. There's a cool spot where you could hang 5 or 6 hammocks all right next to each other. Firewood is never an issue if you paddle a little ways from camp.

Open campsite, good view, private bathroom down a ways from campsite. Only reason I didn't give it 4 stars was because campfire wood was scarce. Everything was rotted and further away from camp. But there is a great view of the lake on a rock cliff on the northwest side of camp. We found wood by going to different campsite on lake.

Our favorite site. Has tiny island right by a nicely sloped rock slab landing. Saw about 300 crawdads on that slab around 11pm with our lights. Larger site, with 2 larger openings for tents. Although west opening is more protected. Nice stone lined firegrate, nice log benches. North side has 20ft cliff excellent for star gazing.

This is a huge site, and you might feel a little lost on it with a smaller group. It has a great landing and has a great ledge and view over looking Cherokee from the West side. You will see a lot of traffic coming from the North, East, and South. Ive stayed here twice now, so it must be a pretty good site.
