Nice, grassy site next to the portage. Since it is next to the portage, there is a lot of traffic going by. Landing is a little difficult because there are a bunch of sharp rocks just below the surface that would like nothing more than to punch a hole in a canoe. The rocks also made us be very careful while swimming, but swimming here was a lot of fun. It only gets to about seven feet deep in front of the site, which made for good swimming but poor fishing. Two flat tent pads with a couple of other places to put them. There is a trail connecting the site to the portage, though I am not sure what it is used for since it would be difficult to get a canoe down the trail.

This was a fine site for two people. It's tucked into the trees more than most sites in this area, with lots of growth. I feared it would be buggy but it wasn't bad. It looks like it's not used very much, I'm guessing it's not popular with basecampers but it's a good site for people who are moving.

Low, flat site right at the river mouth. Easy landing area. Heavy traffic, as this is right on the thoroughfare to the Cone Lakes and a popular loop people make.
