This overlook doesn't have the lengthy views of the main Mountain overlook, but the scenery of the back bays near the portages is spectacular all the same as demonstrated by the photos on this site. It can be hiked to from the BRT either from the portage or from the campsites on Clearwater.

Was windbound with a group at the farthest west Clearwater campsite. We decided to take a hike instead of a paddle and headed for this overlook. It's a spectacular spot with views of the west end of Mountain and the palisades on Clearwater.
