At the end of the Basswood River, Lower Basswood Falls tumbles on either side of an island, roaring with great power into Crooked Lake. The falls are a popular spot for fishermen and can usually be busy with canoe groups come summer.

Multiple falls converge in a magnificent spectacle. This is a sanctuary that must be experienced to be understood. Some of the best scenery in the entire BWCA in my opinion.
