Vista Lake side is full of rocks, awful landing. The trail is short and rocky, it closely follows the stream into Horseshoe. The landing there is deep, much better than the opposite end.

Very difficult footing over the rocks and boulders!

Significant washout on the portage as a result of this year's high water. This made the entire trail very uneven, and difficult to walk, be careful carrying a heavy load. Horseshoe side is ok, deep water right off shore. The Vista side is at least 15-20 feet of rocks.

We arrived at this portage during a break in the snow. Portage was fairly flat with rocky landings. There were fresh wolf tracks in the snow that were definitely less than an hour old. So cool! A new set of snow was rolling in as we finished the portage.

The Horseshoe Lake end is very deep. The portage is short but very rocky and somewhat difficult for that reason.

Short portage. Lots of rocks on the Vista side of the portage. Definitely an area to watch the canoe. The Horseshoe side drops pretty quick. Current wasn't moving too fast, but after a strong storm I would imagine it would be a factor to have to contend with. 2/5

This portage was basically a river. No more than 10 feet of it was above water. The Vista side is a bunch of rocks slightly under water and very slippery. The Horseshoe side was beautiful with a waterfall to look at while the other boat in our group unloaded.

Flat, but very rocky. I remeber loosing my footing a few times. Good shoes would be helpful here.
