Paddled right through, was worried about low water but it wasn't an issue.

We were able to paddle through with minimal scooting over one log.

2018: Skipped it and paddled through 2021: Low water and we were still able to go through without having to unload. I had to step out of the canoe for a moment to lighten the load as we bumped through.

Unless the water is low, you can forget the portage and just paddle on through to Little Shell. The passageway is narrow but generally has good depth.
