Mechanical portage... Dude with a 4wheeler and boat trailer to carry boats, gear, canoes.

$40 for round trip, they will haul your boat, canoes, and gear (assuming you can load it all for one trip) behind an ATV. The upside is the time savings, the downside is the time you could spend waiting in line and the limited hours that the ATV makes trips. First come, first served.

Took this portage when the truck was running many times with my dad in the 60s. This was my introduction to the BWCA. Back then, the truck backed into the water, you drove your boat up on the truck, they drove you over and then did it in reverse. Wide road back then. Wish I had pics.
