Previous comments essentially correct - the maps (as of this writing) currently show that on the South end, there is narrow inlet of maybe 150m and that the portage starts at the North end of that. The inlet does not exist - if you look at satellite images, you can see it's a bog. The portage starts right at the end of the lake and is easy to find on the South end (North end too, for that matter). Two more things: First, I believe in July '24 there is a wasp nest just a few steps from the southern portage landing in the ground of the path. Spotted many wasps on the ground just in time and went around. If you go this season, beware! Last, because the drawn line of the portage (currently) is shown in the wrong place, know that it is likely more like 450m at a guess. Still, not a hard portage by WCPP standards.

This portage was only partially burned by the 2021 fire and only had a few trees down. When going north, the start of the portage is on the west side of the creek in the floating bog. It is marked with a rock cairn.
