I paddled through here in 2023 going east to west (Dragon to Talon) and found it as marked on the Chrismar WCPP map as two beaver dam obstructions. These dams flooded out the swamp so no portage, only dragging the canoe down the high beaver dams (5-8' in height). It would be more of a challenge going the other way. Hopefully the beavers keep maintaining these dams. The entrance of the creek on the Broomerang side is hard to see and very narrow. I came out of it on the north east side of the bay....if that makes sense? The creek from this to the next portage going into Dragon (east) is very narrow and twisted. I paddled through here in low water so was just able to get through and could not make some corners, even with a shorter solo canoe.

This area is marked Seasonally Shallow on the hardcopy map, and that map doesn't show this portage...only two "Obstructions". The ENTIRE way from Boomerang Lake to Dragon lake is an obstruction. We didn't see nor take this portage, instead pushed, pulled, drug and paddled our canoes through and over the beaver dams and super small channel through the floating bog. I do not recommend this route unless you just like doing things the hard way. See additional comments on the portage to the east.
