When paddling north, this is the first portage in the chain to Murdock Lake, that was burned both in 2018 and again in 2021. The last fire cleared out all the underbrush so it is now an open field over the granite ridges. You can see both ends of the portage from either end. I added rock cairns at both ends and along the way so it is easy to find and follow. It might get harder once the underbrush grows back.
